Anjali is responsible for developing an external early-stage innovation pipeline aligned with the strategies of Johnson & Johnson’s businesses, with a primary focus on pharmaceuticals.
Previously, Anjali worked for four years at Shire in Corporate Development where she led cross-functional due diligence teams performing integrated assessments for incoming M&A and in-licensing opportunities, and helped navigate opportunities through necessary approvals to close transactions in support of all Shire franchises. Prior to Shire, Anjali had 20 years industry experience working at both large and small companies, including The Upjohn Company, Genetics Institute/Wyeth, Critical Therapeutics, Clinquest Inc. and Flexion Therapeutics, where she held roles with increasing responsibility in drug discovery and development and program leadership. She has worked across multiple therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, coagulation, inflammatory, respiratory, and autoimmune conditions, osteoarthritis, pain and several rare diseases.
Anjali holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, and a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. She holds an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, MA.
