Carlos Amaro is responsible for leading all aspects of CDI @ TMC site management including accountability for regulatory compliance, security, budget development and management, customer relationship management, and administration of agreements and amendments.
Before joining the Johnson & Johnson Innovation family, Carlos was with the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen (OEDK) at Houston’s Rice University for more than 10 years as a senior engineering design technician. There, he was responsible for assisting student teams in designing and developing their POC prototypes for their respective projects, making purchases for the facility and teams, and helping to develop safety guidelines and best practices. Carlos helped to layout and specify equipment for the facility as well as oversee the space for readiness and EHS compliance. Carlos helped develop a training program for equipment ranging from 3D printers and laser cutters to woodshop saws and plasma cutters.
Carlos served 6 years in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician and upon leaving the Navy, went back to school and received his BS in Engineering from the University of Houston – Downtown in 2004.
