Manager Transactions, Consumer External Innovation
Elizabeth (Liz) Wu is Manager of Transactions at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Asia Pacific. In this role, she is responsible in leading the transaction process for collaboration deals in the region, with the goal of bringing groundbreaking innovation into Johnson & Johnson’s three key business sectors – Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and Consumer Health. She also partners with Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc. to execute on key equity investment opportunities in the region for the Consumer Health sector.
Liz joined Johnson & Johnson in 2016 as Manager of Consumer External Innovation where she was responsible for identifying and evaluating external innovation opportunities aligned to key global and regional priorities for the Consumer business in Asia Pacific. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Liz held positions of increasing responsibility at L’Oréal, including Associate Principal Scientist at L’Oréal Research & Innovation. In that role, her primary responsibility was to evaluate and establish external collaborations in line with L’Oréal’s R&D strategy, and through her leadership, several of these relationships successfully achieved key scientific milestones. Prior to L’Oréal, Liz completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, a member of A*STAR’s biomedical sciences institutes in Singapore.
Liz earned her B.S. in Bioengineering from University of California, Berkeley, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from University of California, San Diego.
