Dr Imran Hamid is Senior Director of New Ventures and Transactions for Johnson & Johnson Innovation. Imran leads the identification and sourcing of early stage transformative innovation, and the subsequent shaping and execution of transactions opportunities across Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies.
Imran is a former Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon, digital health entrepreneur and has served as a strategic advisor to several pharmaceutical, medical device and private equity companies. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Imran was Director of Business Development & Licensing at Mallinckrodt and Director of Commercial Discovery at Merck & Co.
Imran has a broad range of deal experience including start-up and corporate fundraising, licensing, and M&A transactions, spanning pre-revenue, growth stage and mature assets.
Imran received his medical degree from Imperial College London, where he graduated with joint honours from the Imperial College Business School and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. Imran is committed to using his experiences to advance surgical innovation, improve clinical outcomes and deliver higher quality care for patients.
