Senior Director, Immunology Scientific Innovation
Jarrat Jordan, Ph.D. is Senior Director of Immunology Scientific Innovation for Johnson & Johnson Innovation. In this role, he brings his passion to continue to grow the Immunology academic and industry network in the Boston ecosystem and other innovation hubs across eastern North America contributing to the creation and implementation of the Immunology Therapeutic Area external innovation partnership strategy and portfolio.
Jarrat has held multiple roles at Johnson & Johnson since 2004. Most recently, he was a group leader in Immunology Translational Sciences where he led rheumatology biomarker development programs for several assets in the portfolio including Stelara® and Tremfya®. Prior to this role, Jarrat was research lead and a founding biologist for Estrela, a Johnson & Johnson internal venture. In this role, he helped to successfully progress a novel lupus compound from preclinical development to a proof of mechanism trial. Before this, Jarrat led many projects in Immunology Discovery and Infectious Diseases. Jarrat’s innovative work has resulted in three Johnson & Johnson R&D Innovation Awards, two Philip B. Hofmann Research Scientist Awards, and multiple granted patents and peer-reviewed publications in the fields of Microbiology, Innate Immunity and Toxicology.
He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Georgia at Athens where he studied bacterial pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions.
