Senior Director, External Innovation, Discovery, Product Development & Supply (DPDS)
Jay Lin is the Senior Director, External Innovation, Discovery, Product Development & Supply (DPDS) at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Asia Pacific. In this role, he has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the scouting and evaluation of external opportunities for DPDS in Asia Pacific across all biologic and synthetic drug modalities. He provides transactional support from a scientific and strategic perspective for DPDS-driven deals. He also partners with the JLABS organization to identify and foster start-up companies aligned with DPDS strategy.
Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Jay was the Oncology Business Line Lead at the Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, where he was responsible for global search and evaluation of innovative therapeutic programs. In his 3+ years with Simcere, Jay led the successful in-licensing of several biologics in Immuno-oncology. He has also worked with WuXi AppTec and Xbiotech with a focus on biologics discovery/early development and clinical biomarker in the field of oncology and immunology. He played both scientific and managerial roles in the companies and was a major contributor to two therapeutic antibodies in late phase clinical development.
Jay acquired his Ph.D. in Microbiology/Immunology and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. His graduate research has led to six publications on T cell, dendritic cell development and drug delivery.
