Kenneth Greenberg,

Senior Director, External Innovation

Ken serves as Senior Director of External Innovation in the External Innovation Team within Discovery, Product Development & Supply (DPDS) and the Johnson & Johnson Innovation West North America, Australia & New Zealand Team.

With over 20 years of experience in applied research, drug discovery, and company building, Ken joined Johnson & Johnson in 2021 to lead strategy and operational responsibility for the scouting of external opportunities with DPDS. In this role, he also provides scientific and strategic support for DPDS-driven deals, and partners with JLABS to foster companies aligned with DPDS strategy.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Ken established and led the neuroscience discovery program at UNITY Biotechnology, where he successfully advanced therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. Before UNITY, Ken co-founded CODA Biotherapeutics and Oncorus, where he co-invented a neuromodulation platform for neuropathic pain and focal epilepsy and an immunotherapy platform currently in clinical trials for solid tumors.

Ken completed his PhD and postdoctoral training in Visual Neuroscience and MCB Neurobiology at UC Berkley. During his academic and early industry work, he engineered viral and non-viral gene delivery systems to re-establish visual function in people with visual loss from inherited retinal conditions.
