Sr. Manager, Technology Development
Rajitha Aluru is the Senior Manager of Technology Development at the Center for Device Innovation at Texas Medical Center (CDI @ TMC). Rajitha manages all internal technology programs and engineering resources at CDI and is responsible for ensuring the accelerated development of early-stage concepts into breakthrough medical devices.
Rajitha has more than 18 years of experience as an engineer and in leading research and development teams to design and launch innovative new products across different industries. Her medical device R&D experience includes products and patents in diverse areas including Sports Medicine, Fluid Management, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Plasma based Coblation, and Wound Care. Over the years, Rajitha has built her own R&D Program Framework for medical device innovation, which focuses on significantly improving device success outcomes by ensuring higher clinical impact, product usability, and technological differentiation. Prior to joining CDI, Rajitha worked for Smith & Nephew as an R&D Manager. Apart from the biomedical industry, Rajitha also has experience in developing award-winning, innovative products for computer hardware, military, and telecommunications sectors.
Rajitha has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University in India.
